CHAPEL OF APPARITIONS
AND THE BASILICA

In 1539 Mother Mary appeared to a young woman Urška on top of this mountain at the site where is now located the Chapel of Apparitions. Here, Virgin Mary did not require prayers for a specific thing, rather asking that in this location people build her a church and  pray her blessings for what ever they needed.

Sveta Gora became a place of miracles and healing, and over the centuries saw millions of pilgrims pass by and thousands get cured of innumerable conditions.
